Oranges and lemons

A tiny orange tree that was inherited with the house has grown and this winter it produced its first fruit. I peeled it, smelt the heady aroma, bit into a segment and ... eek! It is a bitter orange not a sweet eating one. Another one to add to my collection of sour citrus, to go with the Bergamot and the lemon, both of which are heavily laden. Marmalade anyone?

Yes very good Pete. Its peeing down here in Manchester. Earlier it was snowing. And its freezing. Mark Hughes has been kicked out at Wastelands and you are just rubbing it in with your photos.
Oh well.

BTW your fruit isn't a Chinoccio is it? If so you can make your own San Pellegrino Chino, possibly the world's finest fizzy pop. (You can get it at Roma in Whitefield, just near where the Lions play. But they shut on sundays.)

Actually, that would be a chinotto according to the good folks at Wikipedia, not a chinoccio. Apparently I made that up.

Nearly midnight here, very mild, temperature about 12-13C. Am sitting in front of an olive wood fire and just had excellent goat soup in the only open taverna - the loose wine is on form too. Big storm yesterday though.
